Purpose
To provide funds to graduate students with genuine intellectual interests on Pre-Columbian/early Colonial or Mediterranean/Byzantine worlds or in Garden and Landscape history.
Focus -
Byzantine studies.
Qualifications -
Applicants must be Harvard graduate students in art history, archaeology, history and literature of the Pre-Columbian/early Colonial or Mediterranean/Byzantine worlds or in Garden and Landscape history; must have completed all departmental requirements, (including course work, residence, general and preliminary examinations, and approval of the prospectus); full-time residence during the entire term or academic year of their contribution to an institutional project.

Applications will be judged on the originality and solidity of their contribution to their fields.

Applications must be submitted through the online application program. Applicant must also upload an in-depth description of projected research travel or field work, three letters of recommendation (two of which should be from professors in their department at Harvard University and one of which should be from their dissertation supervisor0, and graduate transcripts.
