The AMS Minority Scholarship is awarded to minority students, mainly Hispanic, Native American, and Black/African American, who are underrepresented in the sciences and plan to major in atmospheric or related oceanic and hydrologic sciences.  Applicants must be high school seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA and provide an official transcript, one recommendation letter, and the completed application by the specified deadline.  Awards are $6,000 ($3,000 toward freshman year tuition and $3,000 toward sophomore tuition if freshman year grades meet academic requirements for the scholarship).
